I purchased the 768k package bundled with my phone service. Most of my speed issue is related to the incoming phone lines. Since Embarq is both my phone and DSL provider, the DSL techs tell me I have line issues...so I call the repair side. The repairman has been to my house on several occasions to investigate line noise. One repairman even told me, "I've heard a lot worse" regarding my line noise, then left. The line noise is still there. You make the call.
