    When I signed up I got the world! 6.0mb/768 5 static IP's and a ton of webspace for $65 a month. When I mvoed to Verizon area they would only allow me to have a 3mb connection and only dropped the service to $55 a month. I was ok with that and service was great for another 2 years.

    I moved again and they wouldn't allow me to keep my 5 static IP's and said I can now only get a 1.5/384 connection for the same $55 a month. This was not a limitation of speed because I can get 3mb/768mb, but just not from them. They also wouldn't allow me to keep my 5 static ip's and said they now only allow PPOE connections, but again the price is the same?

    WTF??? After 7 years of service this is how I was treated? I later found out that the company was sold!! Seems like Dslextreme is no longer the family based business and has been bought out by the corporate devils!!

    If you are at DSLextreme cancel and move on!!

    Sucky... but...

    yeah that sounds sucky. I dun't really understand what the problem with the static IP's are (why they couldn't be transfered). It makes me wonder if you moved out of their direct area or something with that third move. I know in some areas they just resell other peoples connections so you are forced using PPoE, etc..

    One thing I have to say though is you should really make your review accurate for other things. Reliability, services, value for money etc. I don't think everything should be set to the lowest possible like that, but whatever.

    I am sorry you had a problem when you moved.

    Keep in mind that Static IP addresses are assigned to the Redback(routers) on our end. If you move to an area where we have to connect you to a different redback(Usually if the phone company is different or you are in a different state) we cannot give you the same static IP's.

    We would love to give you the same speed and price no matter where you go but that isn't how DSL works. When you move to an area where the line provider is different it costs us more to provide you with service and certain line providers will allow us to give you certain features that other do not.

    We try to give our customers as much coverage as possible. Sometimes that means we cannot offer Static IP addresses in a given area. Your speed was probably limited by your distance from the equipment that provides the DSL signal or by the phone company and not by us.

    If you havent already switched to a new provider send myself or Geroge(DSLX_GM) an IM with your account info and we can see what we can do about the current situation.
