United upgraded me from the 700 Mhz Airspan modem to 900 mhz modem, speeds went from 184-483 kbps download / 125-99 kbps upload to a very solid (3 months now) - 1449 kbps/652kbps... a great improvement... but as soon as the speeds went up, service suddenly on Newsgroups was throttled, (via Cox.net) to less than 33.6 kbps with average of 23.8kbps.. for 49.95 a month United Telcom service is GOOD, but affilate with Cox.net and Newsgroups being throttled is crap.. The upgrade from the AirSpan 700 mhz modem to 900 mhz modem was excellent.
ISP UnitedWireless (United Telcom) says they do not CAP nor Throttle anything and have no idea why suddenly after almost 3 years my Newgroups speeds were throttled, they have contacted Cox.net but I have heard no reply back, this has been over 30 days ago. trace route :
