I have had Earthlink's VOIP for almost 3 years now. Over 2 years of that service was pure hell. As an Earthlink subscriber for 19 years without any problems and excellent customer service, I didn't think twice about subscribing to their VOIP/DSL package. WRONG! BIG MISTAKE! While the Level 3 tech support people tried their best, I continued to have dropped calls for over 2 years. And not just occasional. I couldn't just unload their VOIP according to them, because it was now "bundled" with my DSL. I was forced to get another phone provider with a second line and to order another DSL service from Earthlink as to not have any interruption to my DSL service for 2 weeks. Almost immediately after I had done this and was ready to dump my "bundle", the VOIP stopped dropping my calls. I think the Level 3 support people are excellent, and also the DSL service. They may finally have fixed their VOIP issues, but I would think twice about it.

| Earthlink VOIP service I've had Earthlink VOIP service (one "line"/number) since June 2006 (92130 zip code) and other than a few hiccups here and there it has worked well.
I am not using DSL though. My Earthlink service is provided through Time Warner (cable). | |
