The ordering and install process was very painless. I ordered it all online. Great deal and I had heard good things. I was excited. When i got the modem I had the hardest time getting it to sync. The tech support person sounded like he was reading off of a script and not really listening to me. I could only get a sync at one jack in my whole house, but not at the NID...something funny was going on that no one could explain. The best download speed I ever got was about 133k down. After doing lots of investigation on my own I found out I am 17,990 feet from the CO...this is from Verizon. The online distance finder quoted about 16,500 ft. I am disappointed that Earthink even tried to make money off of me. Luckily FIOS is available here so I will be switching to that as soon as the technician can come.
Update: The FiOS has worked out great, the CO distance is also moot since it's now fiber.
