Mediacom (see our
user reviews) has released their
earnings report, which notes the company posted a net loss of $6.6 million in the quarter. The company also said that it has lowered its year-end revenue guidance from 8-9% growth to 7-8%, news which drove the company's stock downward on Wall Street.
Broadband revenues grew by 19.6%, and the company added 13,000 new broadband customers. They also saw a 126% growth in VoIP revenue and 21,000 new VoIP customers. The company lost 18,000 basic cable subscribers and gained 2,000 digital cable subscribers.
In news that will neither thrill nor surprise Mediacom customers, Mediacom CEO Rocco Commisso announced during an earnings
conference call that the company would be taking a
"back seat" on DOCSIS 3.0 deployment. Keep in mind, Qwest is the company's biggest competitive threat.

"I don't think anyone has deployed that technology in the U.S. today," says Commisso.
